Article 6
The Project
6.1 The Recipient
a) shall prepare, implement, operate and maintain the Project in conformity with
sound financial and engineering practices and substantially in accordance with
the Project conception agreed upon between the Recipient and KfW;,
b) assigned the preparation and supervision of construction of the Project to a
German-Jordanian consortium. The option for a phase 2 (supervision phase),
agreed upon in the Consulting Contract, enters into force, after KfW has
notified the Employer that all conditions precedent for disbursement have been
fulfilled; <)
c) shall award a turn-key contract for the construction of the wastewater treatment
plant to be financed from the financial contribution upon prior international
competitive bidding with prequalification to a consortium composed of an
international contractor (leading partner) who has sufficient experience in
electro-mechanical works and a local contractor to perform the civil works;
d) shall award the contract for the laying of the conveyance pipe from the location
of the treatment plant to the Wadi Abu el Feed and the construction of the
seasonal reservoir in the Wadi Abu el Feed to be financed from the financial
contribution upon prior local competitive bidding to firms domiciled in the
Palestinian Territories who have solid experience in civil works and
construction of mains;
e) ensure the full financing of the Project and, upon request of KfW, furnish to ®@
KfW evidence proving that the costs not patd from this financial contribution are
covered;
f) maintain, or cause to be maintained, books and records unequivocally showing
all costs of goods and services required for the Project and clearly identifying
the goods and services financed from this financial contribution;
Q) enable the representatives of KfW at any time to inspect said books and re-~
cords and any and all other documentation relevant to (he implementation of
the Project, and to visit the Project and all installations related thereto;
h) furnish to KfW any and all such information and reports on the Project and its
further progress as KfW may request and
