Dear Mr. Mayor,
for the purchase of measuring instruments, the amount of DM 24,860.52, including VAT (17%),
was requested had to be paid. According to Call No. 1, the net amount of DM 21,248.14 had
been booked as construction costs. We have paid the VAT on your behalf in advance. The VAT
amount of DM 3,612.18, or the equivalent of NIS 6,930.30 (exchange rate as of September 1994)
is kept as open account to be claimed from the project executing agency by our auditing office.
In my letter of 25 November 1994 (see attached copy) I kindly asked you for reimbursement. To
the best of my knowledge, the Municipality Al Bireh had submitted a request for reimbursement
to the Israeli Civil Authority in December 1994.
Since the final accounting of the measures taken so far have to be made by the end of 1996, I
urge you to inform me as soon as possible whether or not we can expect a reimbursement
regarding this matter.
