In late August, the Israeli daily «Haaretz» reported that IDF reser-
vists in the West Bank, spent several days chasing and shooting
down children’s kites bearing the colors of the Palestinian flag.
Eventually the kites were gathered and burned. This seemingly
absurd undertaking on the part of the troops of the world’s fourth-
ranking military power, shows the antagonism and fear with
which the Zionists regard any expression of Palestinian national
identity.
